He referred to his first case against an Asian grooming gang in Rochdale during his tenure as Chief Prosecutor, which set a precedent for other cases that followed.

He said, “We changed the entire approach to this case because I wanted to challenge and challenge the myths that were hindering those victims from being heard.” He further said, “I was the chief prosecutor for five years and during this time I faced this case head-on, because I could clearly see what was going on and so I reopened all the cases that had been closed.”
