Recently, a street vendor took creativity to an unexpected level by adding Oreos to this classic recipe and the result has left foodies in shock. A video showcasing his unusual creation, the Chilli Oreo Omelette has gone viral, sparking mixed reactions online.
Food blogger Shivam Sharma shared a video on Instagram. The clip starts off like any typical street food video, with a vendor heating oil on his oversized pan and preparing an omelette. The vendor cracks eggs into a bowl, whisks them into a batter, and spreads it across the pan. But just when viewers expect a standard recipe, he throws in a shocking twist — grabbing a pack of Oreo biscuits.
He empties the entire pack onto the pan, carefully pressing the cookies into the omelette batter. After flipping it to ensure the Oreos are thoroughly cooked, the result is a spotty brown creation. To finish the dish, he serves it on a plate, drizzles sauce over the biscuits, and even garnishes it with a few green chillies.
Since being shared online, the video has sparked an avalanche of reactions and no, not the good kind. Social media users were left stunned, with many expressing sheer disgust over the bizarre creation.
One user bluntly remarked, “This just pissed me off so bad.” Another echoed the sentiment, exclaiming, “That’s not food.”
Some didn’t hold back their sarcasm either. One person wrote, “Two words: absolutely insane,” while another warned, “Just because you can mix two things doesn’t mean you should. Who even thinks of this?”
Taking the criticism a step further, a frustrated commenter added, “Bro deserves to spend some time in prison for this.”
Last year, the same vendor grabbed headlines for yet another eccentric creation — the Fanta omelette. In a bizarre twist, he ditched oil altogether and cracked six whole eggs directly into a skillet filled with Fanta. To elevate the dish (or perhaps confuse the palate further), he tossed in chopped tomatoes, onions, green chilies, and coriander, proudly naming it the “cold drink omelette.” Of course, the unconventional recipe left social media divided.
