One Nation One Subscription approved, investment worth thousands of crores will be done, know how many students will get it


The Central Government has approved the ‘One Nation One Subscription’ scheme to promote higher education, research and innovation across the country. This scheme will especially be to make digital access of research articles and journals simple and accessible. Under this, all government higher educational institutions, universities, research institutes and R&D laboratories will get the facility of integrated magazine subscription through a central digital platform. Under this scheme, a total investment of Rs 6,000 crore will be made in the next three years (2025-2027).

Steps towards improvement in research and higher education

The Union Cabinet, while approving the scheme, said that it will be an important step in increasing access to quality higher education for the youth of India. The ‘One Nation One Subscription’ scheme aims to further strengthen the education reform initiatives launched by the government over the last decade, thereby providing students and researchers access to high quality educational content and research papers. >

This scheme will form an important part of the National Science and Technology Initiative to promote research and development. Through this, the culture of innovation will be encouraged in government universities and research institutes and research work will be accelerated from scientific point of view. How to get subscription

The scheme will be operated by INFLIBNET (Information and Library Network Centre), an autonomous inter-university center of the University Grants Commission (UGC). Under the ‘One Nation One Subscription’ scheme, all higher education institutions, research institutes and laboratories run by the Central and State Governments will be able to access nationally available journals and research materials.

Along with this, the Higher Education Department will also prepare a special integrated portal. Through this, all educational institutions and researchers will be able to easily access various types of scientific journals and research articles.

Education and research will be encouraged across the country

With the implementation of this scheme, important material will be available to the students and researchers of India in the global educational network. Which will increase their research capabilities. Apart from this, this scheme will encourage innovation and creativity as well as give a new dimension to education at the national level.
