A video of a group of teachers dancing to a song while students sweep the floor and wash the carpets from a government school in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, has surfaced.
The clip captured teachers dancing to a popular song from the 90s while students were allegedly made to sweep floors, wash carpets and clean curtains. Shared by a journalist named Gangesh on X, the shocking clip continues to spread like wildfire on social media.
In the beginning of the video, a teacher is seen giving a solo performance. Soon, it cuts to another scene where a group of teachers is seen grooving to Dhol Jageero Da with students. What follows next may leave you troubled.
It shows a student busy cleaning instead of attending classes while the teachers give instructions. The video raises concerns among Internet users about the standard of education being delivered to students at the Krishnapuri Government School in Meerut.
Before this, another video of a teacher sleeping during class hours took over the Internet. In the clip, the teacher was found sitting in a chair, clearly in a deep sleep, while students were seated inside the class. The 21-second video, reportedly filmed by a student, invited extensive criticism on social media. Many condemned the teacher’s actions, calling her irresponsible for compromising with students’ education. A section of people was also concerned about her health or exhaustion.

“Maybe the teacher didn’t get enough sleep at night, which is why she’s resting in the school. After all, in government schools, it’s the teachers who have it easy. There aren’t many students, so they have to pass the time somehow,” read a comment.
One of the individuals sympathised with the teacher saying, “Well, she’s human too. Perhaps the teacher sleeps late at night and has to wake up early to take care of household chores.”
Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) Asha Chaudhary came with a clarification on the matter and noted that an inquiry had been launched against the teacher in the clip.
