Google has time and again been in the news for its office culture and cafeteria, which is no less than a party shop for many. Amid the changing social media trends, employees have also found the most creative ways to flaunt their workplace on the Internet, engaging audiences with their day-to-day activities including getting ready, going to the office, availing free breakfast, using the office gym, enjoying free meals and much more. It seems like a Google employee has had enough as she calls out her co-workers, who she believes spend more time enjoying the perks than actually working.
Amisha Aggarwal, a software development engineer at Google took to her X handle and took a jibe at the “peak Google influencer behaviour” that she witnessed at work. According to Amisha, Google employees are more into showing off travelling in office cabs, having free breakfast and lunch, taking a nap, hitting the gym, and snacktime, only to make videos to make others feel FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out).

However, not everyone was impressed by Amisha’s sarcastic remarks, as many took to the comment section to disagree with her. A user wrote, “People are okay with billionaires flexing their Bugattis but not when employees flex their employment,” to which Amisha explained that one should flaunt things purchased with their own money. Another added, “Looks like you are jealous for not having fun in life. Do something better in life so you can have such a job too.”
“Well, well, it’s people’s own choice to flaunt their achievements, and it’s employers’ choice to decide how to reward their hardworking employees… and it’s our choice to go to a better place or write tweets like this out of “j-“FOMO,” yes,” a comment read.
Some, though, felt that such employees don’t do much work. One wrote, “Was always astonished by the fact that people go to the gym in between their work hours,” while another added, “Peak influencer behaviour: turning a 9-to-5 into a 24×7 brag reel!”
Many Google employees are seen sharing videos of their lives at Google offices, flaunting how they spend their free time during coffee breaks, at gyms, at cafeterias, and with colleagues.
