America Presidential Election 2024: Presidential elections are going to be held in America on November 5. Here there is a contest between Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Kamala Harris. What Indian-Americans think about the election fight and which issues are important for them has been revealed in a recent survey.

In the survey, Indian-Americans described inflation as the biggest election issue. Apart from this, abortion, jobs and economy were also the top issues. India-US relations ranked last among the top issues for respondents in the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace’s Indian American Attitudes 2024 survey, along with education and national security. Inflation or prices were cited as the top issue by 17 percent of respondents, while abortion, reproductive rights and jobs/economy were cited by 13 percent.
However, the survey showed party divisions on top issues. The state of the economy, prices and jobs were the primary concerns for 39 percent of Republican respondents. At the same time, 24 percent of Democratic respondents considered all these issues as the biggest. 19 percent of Democrats and 5 percent of Republicans said abortion was the most important issue. 714 Indian-American citizens participated in this online survey between September 18 and October 15, 2024 and was conducted by YOUGOV for Carnegie.
Health and education is also an election issue
10 percent of the people surveyed considered immigration as the top issue. 9 percent on health care, 8 percent on climate change and environment, 7 percent on civil liberties, 6 percent on crime, 5 percent on taxes and government spending, 4 percent on US-India relations, 4 percent on 4 percent also named education as the top issue and 4 percent also named national security as the top issue.
