Now the burden of college fees will be lighter, registration for this scholarship scheme of CBSE starts

CBSE has started the application process for its Central Area Scholarship Scheme (CSSS) for the academic session 2025-26. Under this scheme, students who are financially weak and want to groan their future in higher education.

Under this scheme, the last date of online application for both new scholarship and renewal of old scholarship has been fixed on 31 October 2025. Interested students can apply by visiting the national scholarship portal scholarships.gov.in.

How much amount will be received?

Under this scheme, students will get help of Rs 1,000 every month i.e. Rs 10,000 annually for the first three years. At the same time, for the fourth and fifth year, this amount will increase to Rs 2,000 per month i.e. Rs 20,000 annually.

Who can apply?

Class 12th should have more than 80% marks.
Age should be between 18 and 25 years.
Family annual income should be less than Rs 6 lakh.
Do not take advantage of any other scholarship.

Conditions required for scholarship renewal

• It is necessary to bring more than 60% marks every year.
• At least 75% attendance should be.
• The student’s behavior should be disciplined.

Beneficial for both UG and PG

This scheme is valid not only for graduation (UG) but also for postgraduate (PG) students. Students can get it for a maximum of five years. CBSE has clarified that the application should be examined by institutions compulsorily within a deadline, otherwise the application will be considered invalid. 50% of scholarships will be reserved for women students. Science under subject -wise reservation: Commerce: Scholarships for humanities will be distributed in the ratio of 3: 2: 1.

Reserved classes were also taken care of

• Scheduled Castes (SC) – 15%
• Scheduled Tribes (ST) – 7.5%
• Other Backward Classes (OBC) – 27%
• Divyangjan – 3%
