A wedding in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, turned chaotic after a dispute over a cooler led to a violent clash between members of the bride’s and groom’s families. The incident took place on 28 May and was captured on video, which quickly went viral on social media.
The wedding, held in Sipri Bazar, had been progressing smoothly with rituals completed and the couple seated on stage. A cooler was placed nearby to provide comfort to the newlyweds. However, some members from the groom’s side reportedly sat directly in front of the cooler, blocking the airflow. When family members from the bride’s side requested them to move, an argument broke out, India Today reported.

The disagreement soon escalated into a full-blown scuffle, with guests throwing plastic chairs and utensils at each other. The video shows men and women alike engaged in the brawl, while others ducked for cover. Some local men reportedly joined the clash, intensifying the situation. Guests were seen abandoning their meals and fleeing the scene.
The fight ended by the time police arrived. Meanwhile, the bride’s family submitted a formal complaint to the SSP’s office the next day, along with the video as evidence. They alleged that earlier complaints to the police were ignored.
The bride’s brother, told the publication: “We were serving food when a few boys sat in front of the cooler. We simply asked them to move so the couple could get some air. Instead of cooperating, they started fighting with us.”
Circle Officer Ramveer Singh confirmed an inquiry is under way. “A video has surfaced on social media showing a brawl at a wedding. The footage was verified, and the location identified as Sipri Bazar. An inquiry is under way.”
The video quickly caught the attention of social media users, sparking a range of reactions on X. Many responded with humour and sarcasm, making light of the unusual reason behind the wedding fight.
One user joked, “North Indians never miss a chance to show their rowdy side! One sip of pee, and they’re spiraling out of control like there’s no tomorrow!”
Another added, “Such wedding are 100x better then WWE! Never miss such weddings and don’t forget to carry popcorns.”
Some comments focused on the aftermath, with one user questioning, “At the end who will pay the damage to tent house…… Reception organising family.”
One user remarked, “Bhai Dono Hi Khade Ho Jaate Coole Ke Samne, Doosre Ki Shaadi Kyu Kharab Karni?
“It’s unfortunate how quickly celebrations can turn chaotic when tempers flare. A reminder that respect and calm should always come first—especially during moments meant for joy and unity,” a user wrote.
