Intra Surgical Nerve Mapping Probe Suction Tube Device has received a patent from the Government of India for the next 20 years. This device has been started to be used on trial basis in AIIMS Patna. This device developed has increased the accuracy in brain tumor, spine and brain injury surgery and on the other hand has also reduced the risk. Let us tell you that Dr. Vikas Chandra Jha, head of the Neurosurgeon Department of AIIMS Patna and Dr. Sangam Jha of the Gynecological Diseases Department have prepared this device.
More advanced than American devices
Doctor Vikas Chandra Jha told that the patented device has been used in neuro and spine surgery in America. This machine could identify veins in only one direction. This device was repeatedly inserted into the vein, so that the area to be operated on could be identified. The risk in its use is also high. ICMR has been given the responsibility of designing it as a device. ICMR will prepare it in the form of a machine.
Device prepared from indigenous materials in two years
It took a total of two years to make the Intra Surgical Nerve Mapping Probe Suction Tube Device. Dr. Vikas Chandra Jha told that during the surgery of spine, brain and brain tumors, there was repeatedly a shortage of probe device for identifying different directions. The shortcomings of the American device were not able to completely remove the complications of surgery. In such a situation, he planned to develop it in AIIMS Patna itself. For this, the necessary equipment was procured from different parts of the country.
