A viral clip from Ajaz Khan’s reality show ‘House Arrest’ has drawn strong objections from politicians after internet users objected to its content, which showed participants demonstrating sex positions.
Many internet users tagged the ministry of information and broadcasting, demanding strict action and stringent laws against objectionable content being shown on OTT platforms.
Reacting to this, Lok Sabha MP Nishikant Dubey said the matter will be investigated by a parliamentary committee.
“This will not do…our committee will investigate the matter,” he wrote in a post on X, while tagging an internet user’s post objecting to the viral clip.
The user, Rishi Bagree, said: “Obscenity is being openly served through OTT in the country. Hindu and Punjabi girls are being openly pushed into prostitution by such shows while all rules are flouted. Request @MIB_India to take strict action and formulate stringent laws.”
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said she has raised the matter with the parliamentary standing committee that platforms like Ullu App and Alt Balaji have managed to escape a ban enforced by the central government on obscene and vulgar content.
“I have raised this in the standing committee that apps such as this, namely, Ullu App and Alt Balaji have managed to escape the ban by I&B ministry on apps for obscene content. I am still awaiting their reply,” she wrote on X.

The Centre has banned at least 18 OTT Platforms for obscene and vulgar content, including Dreams Films, Voovi, X Prime among others. Chaturvedi said Ullu App and Alt Balaji have escaped this ban, while Khan’s show ‘House Arrest’ is being broadcast on Ullu App.
Bihar’s Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha incharge Barun Raj Singh also requested Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to “save our children”. “There is a show called House Arrest hosted by #EijazKhan. In this show, girls are made to take off their bras and panty. As the girls take off their underwear, the host of the show and the rest of the people boo and clap. They talk about on camera sex position….Such shows should be stopped immediately,” he wrote on X.
