Mysterious death of an Indian student in Canada, heart attack or anything? Family pleads with PM Modi

Canada Student Death: Indian student Tanya Tyagi, who is studying at the University of Calgary in Canada, has died in mysterious circumstances. This information was given by the Consulate of India at Vancouver on Thursday. Tanya was a resident of North-East Delhi and went to Canada for higher education.

The Indian Embassy condoled X, “We are deeply saddened by the sudden demise of Indian student Tanya Tyagi of University of Calgary.” The embassy also stated that they are in touch with the local administration and all possible assistance will be provided to the victim’s family.

Heart attack claims in a post went viral on social media
Meanwhile, an unconfirmed post on X is going viral in which Tanya Tyagi died of a heart attack while tagging the Prime Minister’s Office of India (PMO). The post reads, “Appeal for help: Vijay Park in North-East Delhi, Gali No. 12, House No. 559/11D, a resident of House No. 559/11D, went to Canada to study. He died of heart attack on 17 June 2025. The family appealed to Prime Minister Modi to help in bringing Tanya’s body to India.”

Increasing problems of Indian students abroad
Tanya Tyagi’s death is under the link of incidents in which many Indian students are facing a crisis abroad in recent times. Earlier this year, a 20 -year -old Indian student Sudik Konanki went missing while holidaying in Dominican Republic. Sudiksha, who was a permanent resident of America and studying at the University of Pittsburgh, was last seen on the beach near Riu Panta Kana Hotel in La Altagrasia province on 6 March.

According to Spanish media reports, at that time Sudiksha was wearing brown to-piece bikini, big round earrings, a metal anklet and many bracelets. Internationally attention was received about this matter, but so far no information has been received.
