A young swimming coach from eastern China has become an internet sensation—not because of his teaching techniques, but because of his good looks and fit physique. Many mothers are now showing a strong interest in signing their children up for swimming lessons.
Since July, several videos of the coach have been circulating online. In the clips, he is seen teaching kids at Hangzhou Chenjinglun Sports School. Most of the videos were taken and posted by the children’s mothers. He is usually spotted in bright swim trunks, and sometimes even shirtless, which has drawn a lot of attention.
Who is this young swimming coach?
The coach’s surname is Chen. He recently graduated from high school and was accepted into the Nanjing Sport Institute. While studying, he works part-time as a junior coach, training around 20 children between the ages of four and five.
Hangzhou Chenjinglun Sports School is known for producing top athletes like famous swimmers Sun Yang and Chen Yufei. This summer alone, nearly 800 children joined their swimming programs. But Coach Chen has become the unexpected star of the season.
According to the South China Morning Post (SCMP), his popularity has given a boost to the school’s summer classes. Many social media users shared fun and admiring comments about him. Some even joked that they wanted to join the classes just to see him.
A user wrote, “Any young man with a little bit of muscle will drive the aunts crazy.”
Another added, “I need a child to borrow.”
“Does he teach moms, too? Asking for a friend,” someone joked.
Another asked, “How to enrol there even tho I haven’t become a mom yet.”
An individual said, “I would send myself to learn how to swim.”
Someone else commented, “So married women with kids and a family are lining up to see a swim instructor?”
Another person pointed out, “Ladies, the guy is barely an adult! All I see is a minor teaching other minors how to swim.”
His social media is now full of comments from fans. Earlier in July, Coach Chen responded to the attention. He said, “Thank you for your support. However, I ask that you respect my privacy. Please refrain from sending me personal messages.”
He added, “Otherwise, I may have to deactivate this account, as it has started to affect my daily life.”
Whether it is his coaching or his charm, Coach Chen has certainly made a splash this summer, both in the pool and online.
