Bangladesh NSA News: Political situation has been constantly changing since Sheikh Hasina’s government fell in Bangladesh last year. There have been many major protests in Dhaka in the last few months. Now a new movement has started. This is because of making Khalilurrahman a National Security Advisor (NSA).
On 9 April, Mohammad Yunus’s government suddenly appointed Khalilur Rahman. This decision was taken when the Army Chief Waqar Uch of the country was abroad. It is being said that the Army Chief is angry with this decision. In such a situation, now the conflict between the government and the army in Dhaka may increase and Mohammad Yunus may have to face the anger of the Army Chief.
Questions are being raised about the appointment of Khalilur Rahman
According to the report of Northeast News, after Khalilurrahman was made the National Security Advisor (NSA), many questions are being raised about the relationship between him and Army Chief General Waqar Jaman. Khalilurrahman is already a high representative of the government on Rohingya issues and other important matters. Now his strength has increased due to him getting another big post.
In such a situation, it is believed that his general may be confronted with Jaman because General Jaman is responsible for the internal and external security of the country. The special thing is that when General Jaman was on a tour of Russia and Croatia, at the same time Mohammad Yunus’s interim government appointed Khalilurrahman, so there is a possibility of dispute and deepening now.
Learn why there is a conflict?
Political analysts in Bangladesh say that after the creation of Khalilurrahman as National Security Advisor (NSA), they are almost certain to confront the army chief General Waqar Jaman. Khalilurrahman also has a US passport and he often lives in Washington.
Supreme Court lawyer and retired Major Sarwar Hussain believes that the Yunus government has tried to make Khalilurrahman look like Ajit Doval of India. Hussain said that the Yunus government may want to balance the strength between Khalilurrahman and General Jaman, but this decision is not correct.
He says that the post of National Security Advisor of Bangladesh should have been given to a former military officer or experienced diplomat. Hussain does not think that Khalilurrahman is the right person for this big and responsible position.
Rahman has been accused of murder
Rahman has been engulfed in many controversies before. In 2001, her name was also revealed in the murder of a female government employee. On this, Supreme Court lawyer Major (Retired) Sarwar Hussain said that Rahman should have been properly examined by his background before making National Security Advisor (NSA). He is surprised that the Yunus government neither conducted any investigation nor consulted at any senior level. Many types of questions are being raised by this.
Dhaka’s political analyst Najmul Ahsan Kalimullah also expressed concern over Khalilurrahman being made NSA. He said that in the interim government of Mohammad Yunus, there are at least eight advisors including Rahman, who have foreign passports. This is not considered the right thinking for any government. Kalimullah also said that Rahman’s tendency has been towards America’s security interests, so after his appointment, his decisions can cause controversy.
