What could be more special than celebrating a birthday at the place where you were born? Such a heartwarming event recently unfolded at a hospital in Chennai. Parents of a set of twins returned to the RSRM Hospital to celebrate their one-year birthday. The kids were reportedly premature and had a challenging start to their lives. They were born on December 15 last year and had to be kept under the “exceptional care” of the neonatal team. To express their gratitude to the doctors and the medical staff, the parents of the twin babies decided to celebrate their first birthday at the hospital.
The incident was brought to light by Supriya Sahu, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department of Tamil Nadu. She dropped a long note on X along with a photo of the “two tiny miracles and their birthday celebration.”
“RSRM Hospital at Chennai was filled with smiles and gratitude when parents returned to celebrate the first birthday of their twin babies. Born last year on 15th December, the baby boy and girl weighed just 1.3 kg and 1.2 kg, facing a challenging start to life,” Supriya Sahu wrote in her post.

The twin babies required ventilator support for 20 days to survive as “weeks of recovery tested their resilience”. “One year later, the twins returned to the very place where their story began – this time healthy, smiling, and surrounded by love. It was a celebration of life, resilience, and the unwavering commitment of our doctors and nurses,” Sahu added. She also hailed “Dr Shanthi Elango and her” team for their efforts and contributions to saving the children.
Many users were moved by the story and the post soon went viral on social media. “What an incredible milestone to celebrate! Wishing these tiny miracles a lifetime of health and happiness. Truly heartwarming,” commented an individual.

Another user considered it as a big win for the doctors and the hospital staff as he said, “If someone returns back to you and acknowledges your services itself shows the quality of the product you are serving at your centre. Great gesture by parents and gratitude shown to administrators.”

“It’s an amazing story of resilience and strength of those little babies, being in the ventilator for that long is not an easy thing by any means, irrespective of the age categories, recovering back to normal health is a miracle in every sense,” wrote a person.
