Pushpa 2: The Rule had been the talk of the town even before its release. The film has been creating even more buzz now since it has shattered records to become India’s biggest opener. The Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna film has not only impressed fans but has also received a lot of praise. But amidst all the celebration, one scathing review has managed to steal some of the spotlight. A video of a man criticising the film has gone viral, drawing mixed reactions online and sparking heated debates.
The review titled “This is brutal”, shared on X (formerly Twitter), starts on a note that almost sounds like praise. But then comes the twist—he claims that such compliments could only come from someone who “lacked basic education.” His comments didn’t just stop at the film. It also took aim at a section of fans, igniting widespread backlash and controversy.

The video has divided people on social media. While some are in support of the person, a few stated that he was wrong.
“Sad. I liked the first part,” wrote one user, expressing disappointment with the critique.

One more commented, saying, “I haven’t watched Pushpa, Pushpa 2, not even interested, but I’m feeling really satisfied hearing this review.”

On the flip side, some users were furious about the tone of the review. One person lashed out, saying, “No one gives a s**t about this guy and what he says. He has all the right to criticise any movie, but he cannot call people who like the movie ‘chapri’ or ‘anpadh.’ That is egotistical and classist behaviour. Is this guy a successful filmmaker? Does he have any credentials? No. A little fame can expose your character and how delusional one is. The fact is Pushpa 2 will be making a s**t load of money, and this guy will wash dishes in Canada and earn peanuts from YouTube. All else is simply ego satisfaction.”
No one gives a 💩 about this guy and what he says. He has all the right to criticise any movie but he can not be calling people who like the movie as chapri or anpadh. That is egotistical and classist behaviour of the highest order. Is this guy a successful film maker? Does have…— Bhairav (@SomBh1) December 6, 2024
Despite the split opinion online, Pushpa 2 continues to dominate cinemas worldwide. Directed by Sukumar and backed by Mythri Movie Makers and Muttamsetty Media, the film stars Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna reprising their roles as Pushpa Raj and Srivalli. A sequel to the 2021 hit Pushpa: The Rise, this film also has Fahadh Faasil returning as the ruthless Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat.
