LinkedIn is full of employees’ tales of workplace struggle, job experiences, challenges, and office grievances. Recently, one such post has gone viral after a man shared an unpleasant experience with the hiring process at Accenture in India on LinkedIn.

In his detailed LinkedIn post, the user painted a grim picture of the hiring process at Accenture in India. The viral post was shared on a LinkedIn account @Abhigyan Tripathi. “I recently had an Unfortunate Experience with the hiring process at Accenture Accenture in India. I received an offer letter from Accenture on July 18, 2024 for the Gurugram location. I accepted it. My joining date at Accenture was September 23, 2024. I sent my resignation to the then-employer which was accepted on August 13, 2024. I mailed to Accenture for early joining many times but did not receive any response. As my original joining date was approaching, I sent several emails to Accenture to know the process of joining whether it would be virtual or physical but again no response was received,” he wrote. “In these circumstances, I went to the Accenture office in Gurugram to join. But I was told that they had not received anything for my onboarding and I should talk to the recruiting team. I tried to call the recruiting team several times but none of the calls were picked up. Numerous emails were also not responded,” he added.

He described, “Later, I got an email on September 30 from Accenture team regarding sending of a copy of passport. Again, on October 3, got an email me to share a copy of my degree which I sent immediately. But the same day I received an auto-generated mail informing me that my application was not progressing further without assigning any reason. In the meantime, I received calls from Accenture asking me whether I was ready to join Accenture which I replied positively. I was also informed that fresh date of joining would be communicated and to be ready for joining.” Describing his current situation, the man wrote, “I have been waiting for a fresh joining date since then but nothing has been communicated to me so far despite numerous emails. I resigned from my previous company on the basis of an offer letter received from Accenture but due to circumstances described above, I could not join Accenture. Now, I have been left jobless and despite tens of emails at all levels, I have not received any response except an auto-generated mail. Such an attitude is very unbecoming on the part of Accenture and has resulted in deep mental pain and grief for me. This has also put me in financial distress.” He concluded his post with a message, “Professional ethics, empathy, and transparency are essential for any organization. Lack of transparency and accountability in the hiring process requires immediate attention to check recurrence of such type of issues in future.”

The post quickly gained attention with hundreds of LinkedIn users weighing in on the situation. A former Accenture employee wrote, “Abhigyan Tripathi I am an ex Accenture and to be true I loved Accenture till date and this just sounds unbelievable to me at first. Having known yours and a few other cases like this I feel there needs to be ethics and empathy courses for hiring HR’s at Accenture. Humanizing workplaces and practices is the need of the hour. I hope you get out of this agony very soon.” Another person shared a similar experience and wrote, “It happened to me also recently. My technical rounds got cleared in Capgemini, they discussed the CTC part and collected my documents too. After that, they kept me on hold and now not responding to my emails or calls.”
