In a surprising move, a website has launched a relationship insurance policy that’s left many scratching their heads. A video has gone viral on social media in which a man claims to provide a relationship insurance policy.
The website Zikilove claims to offer a unique coverage plan that can help couples bet on the longevity of their relationship.
According to their website, if the relationship of any couple survives, they’ll receive a substantial payout – 10 times their total premiums – to help fund their wedding. And if they break up, “they get nothing (except life experience and emotional damage).”
“Introducing Zikilove Insurance, the first-ever insurance that pays you for staying loyal in a relationship. In a time where breakups and situationships are more common than ever, we’re changing the game. Pay a premium every year for five years, and if you marry your partner, we’ll give you 10x your investment for your wedding. If you break up, you get nothing,” a post on Instagram said.
Reactions to this news have been mixed. While some might view it as a fun and innovative way to incentivise long-term commitment, others might see it as a cynical bet on the success or failure of a relationship.
