Importance of bathing in nectar for saints and sages

Mahant Adityanand Shastri of Agni Akhara said that taking bath in nectar gives the same virtuous results as performing a thousand Ashwamedha Yagyas. After bathing in nectar, sages and saints meditate on the gods and discuss knowledge.

Why do Naga Sadhus take bath in Amrit first?

The Naga bath in Kumbh is considered a center of religion and spiritual energy. It is also believed that, when Adi Shankaracharya prepared a group of Naga Sadhus to protect the Dharma, other saints came forward and invited the Naga Sadhus who were protecting the Dharma to take bath first. Naga Sadhus are considered to be worshipers and followers of Bhole Baba. Therefore, they are given the first opportunity to take bath and this tradition is followed even today.
