Maa kamakhya: The three -day Ambubachi Festival in Maa Kamakhya Dham Guwahati has started on 22 June 2025 i.e. today. Apart from Guwahati in Assam, this festival is also celebrated in Firozabad, UP. Ambubachi Festival is celebrated in the temple of Maa Kamakhya located at Jasrana tehsil headquarters of Firozabad district. During the Ambubachi festival, all the doors of the temple of Maa Kamakhya are closed for three days, because for 3 days the mother is in the menstrual situation, that is, in menstruation.

Kamakhya Devi, located in Jasrana, was founded in October 1984, this temple was founded by Peethadhishwar Maharaj Madhavanand. After her Golok Gaman, now her disciple Mahesh Brahmachari is in the service of Kamakhya. According to Mahesh Brahmachari, the Mahant of the temple, after the prestige of the statue of the mother, the stream of water flowed from her feet for 41 consecutive days, in the initial days it seemed as if a water vessel was kept nearby.

This water is coming out of it, but all the eligible was separated from the statue to overcome this doubt, but still the stream of water continued to flow, it proved that the real mother Kamakhya has become distinguished here and her residence is here. Since then, Ambubachi Festival has also started here. During this festival, all the doors of the temple are completely closed for three days. Because 3 days the mother is in the state of her annual menstruation and after 3 days these doors are opened.

Goddess’s rest is time

The Ambubachi fair is considered to be the time of rest of the goddess. Therefore, the doors of the sanctum sanctorum of the temple are closed at this time and the mother is not worshiped for 3 days. On the fourth day, the purification bath of the mother is done and the doors of the temple are opened.
