A 19-year-old girl named Iyah fell in love with a 41-year-old man named Rafah, who is as old as her father. They got married and had a child shortly after.

Iyah and Rafah first met at a bar where Iyah worked as a waitress. Iyah recounted, “I was working in a bar when I noticed a man looking at me repeatedly. We talked, exchanged numbers, and began spending time together.” Rafah initially thought Iyah was older because she worked at a bar but later discovered she was only 19.
Their relationship progressed quickly, with Iyah moving in with Rafah just three weeks after meeting and accepting his marriage proposal eight months later.
Now married, they share their joy on social media, posting a video where they made a heart with their hands and kissed. Iyah captioned the video, “This is your sign,” which quickly went viral.
However, their relationship revealed another surprising detail: Rafah has a daughter from a previous relationship who is just one year younger than Iyah.
Rafah addressed this, saying, “People say my daughter and Iyah are the same age, but I don’t see them that way. I didn’t watch my daughter grow up or spend time with her friends.” Iyah added, “Rafah was not looking for younger girls; we just met and fell in love.”
Despite their happiness, the couple has faced significant social media scrutiny due to their age difference. Some users criticised the relationship, with one saying, “I wish the couple all the best, but if a 41-year-old man roamed around my 19-year-old daughter, he would regret it.”
Another sceptical comment read, “Is this a sign? A sign of what? To call the police?” while a third person noted, “I am 43 years old and my son is 20.”

Nonetheless, some users supported the couple. A woman shared, “I also married a person older than me for the second time, and it was the best decision.” Another user wished them lifelong happiness, emphasising that life is short.
Iyah and Rafah openly share their love story on social media, frequently posting videos about their life together, which are viewed by millions. Iyah concluded, “We met in a bar and fell in love. Now we are a happy family.” Rafah added, “I never thought I would fall in love with someone so young, but it just happened.”
