Importance of Devshayani Ekadashi: Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Ashada month is called Devshayani Ekadashi. On this day Lord Vishnu goes to Yoganidra in Ksheer Sagar and rests for four months. This time is called Chaturmas, in which auspicious works like marriage are not done. On this day Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi are specially worshiped.

Fasting time: Fasting Paran means breaking fasting. 07 July 2025 will be passed on Sunday. Auspicious time: 5:29 am to 8:16 pm

What to do on this day? Wake up early in the morning and take a bath and take a pledge to fast. Worship Lord Vishnu and Lakshmi ji. Offer yellow flowers, basil leaves, lamps, naivedya and panchamrit. Chant the mantra “Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya”. Also recite Vishnu Sahastranam or Chalisa. If possible, do fruit or waterless fast throughout the day and perform bhajan-kirtan at night. Donating is considered auspicious on this day like clothes, food, copper, umbrella etc.
