Son Kunal Goswami confirmed the death of Manoj Kumar
The news agency ANI reported Kumar’s death on Friday morning and said that the actor breathed his last at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. Manoj Kumar’s son Kunal Goswami also confirmed the news of the death of the legendary actor and told that his funeral will take place tomorrow. He said, “He had health problems for a long time. It is God’s pleasure that he peacefully said goodbye to this world. His funeral will take place tomorrow.”

Ashok Pandit mourned the death of Manoj Kumar
Filmmaker Ashok Pandit mourned Kumar’s death and described it as a big loss for the Indian film industry. He said in a video statement, “The great Dadasaheb Phalke Award winner, our inspiration and ‘Sher’ Manoj Kumar ji of the Indian film industry is no longer … It is a big loss for the industry and the whole industry will remember him.”

The name ‘Bharat Kumar’ was due to patriotic films
Born as Harikrishna Goswami in Amritsar, Punjab on 24 July 1937, Manoj Kumar made a separate place for himself in Hindi cinema. His prestigious roles in films like Shaheed, Upkar and Rang De Basanti were deeply associated with the feelings of patriotism of the Indian public. Throughout his career, Kumar was known for his acting and direction in films focused on the spirit of national pride and unity. Some of his magnificent films include ‘Shaheed’ in 1965, ‘Upkar’ of 1976, ‘Purab and Paschim’ released in 1970 and ‘Roti Clot Aur House’ in 1974. Due to these patriotic films, his name was “Bharat Kumar”.

Manoj Kumar was honored with many awards
Kumar’s contribution to Indian cinema gave him several prestigious awards, including a National Film Award and seven Filmfare Awards in various categories. In honor of his immense contribution to Indian art, he was awarded the Padma Shri in 1992 by the Government of India. His legacy was further strengthened when he was awarded the Padma Shri.
