A psychologist has sparked chatter on social media after sharing a LinkedIn post featuring a photo of herself drinking beer from a bottle while breastfeeding her baby. A Redditor who came across her unconventional LinkedIn post shared it on Reddit’s “LinkedIn Lunatics” community. As expected, people quickly flocked to the comments section of the post to share their thoughts. While some people struggled to wrap their heads around her decision to consume beer while breastfeeding, others debated the appropriateness of posting such an image on LinkedIn – a platform known for professional discourse, not personal moments better suited for Instagram.
Olga Vlachynská posted the picture from ten years ago during her time in Thailand and shared her New Year’s resolution – to finally write a book. In her post, she also shared that, after 12 years, she will go on her first solo vacation and will be away from family for 14 days – a rare and much-needed escape.
Reflecting on the last decade, Olga humorously shared her experiences: 18 months of pregnancy and 71 months of breastfeeding. “But the reproduction chapter is closed now,” she declared. “It’s all about intellectual orgies and making it rain with banknotes,” she added.
In response to the LinkedIn postan individual wrote, “Technically if you’re going to drink while nursing the best time is while you’re actively nursing since it takes time for the alcohol to get into the milk and it also doesn’t last in the bloodstream in perpetuity. That said, I wouldn’t openly advertise it on a job site.”
“Those who don’t have kids might not know this, but contrary to what this looks like, this woman might be following the safest practice as regards the timing of alcohol consumption. That said, she is a complete lunatic for posting this on LinkedIn,” another Redditor said.
A third posted, “That’s actually a cool pic and everyone who really knows about breastfeeding knows that this is absolutely fine. It’s a 0.25 or 0.33 l lighter beer. So it is absolutely harmless.”
“I have two kids. I have experience with lactation consultants. One of them recommended my wife drink a specific type of beer for milk production,” another shared.
A fifth opined, “There are more and more Instagram sort of posts on LinkedIn now.”
