Kurdistan contract will be talked about, Iraq invited global oil companies


Kurdistan contracts: On behalf of Iraq’s Ministry of Oil, Iraq has invited global foreign companies operated under the Kurdistan Petroleum Industry (APIKUR) as well as contract firms of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) for a meeting to be held in Baghdad on March 4.

The ministry said on Saturday, the objective of this dialogue is to consider issues related to already existing contracts and make many such agreements that protect national interests and develop oil industry according to international standards. The Ministry of Natural Resources of Kurdistan region is also expected to participate in this discussion. Let us know that this meeting is taking place amidst the ongoing efforts to smooth the oil operations between Baghdad and Erbil.

Oil export quantity will be increased

Eight international oil companies working in Iraq’s semi-autonomous region Kurdistan said that they are not going to export oil through Sehan, Turkey, while Baghdad was announced soon to start exports. The government said on Friday that it will be announced to resume exports soon. Through the State Oil Marketer Somo, the first 185,000 barrels per day (BPD) will be exported and its quantity will be increased gradually. The Kurdistan Petroleum Industry Association (APIKur), who produced 60 percent oil production of this region alone, said that there was no formal contract for clarity on the guarantee of commercial agreement or payment for export in the previous and coming time.
