Taliban wants release of terrorist in exchange for American citizens

The Taliban placed a demand before America that in exchange for these American citizens, an Afghan terrorist and a Pakistani terrorist Dr. Aafia, imprisoned in the American jail, should be released. There were long talks between the United States and the Afghan Taliban regarding this matter. The former President of America had rejected these talks in the initial stages itself. The former US President believed that no compromise would be made with the Taliban.
Taliban put forward demand before America
The Taliban’s Afghan government had demanded the US to release an Afghan prisoner Khan Mohammad from Guantonamo prison in exchange for three American prisoners. Terrorist Khan Mohammad is considered very close to terrorist leader Osama Bin Laden. Regarding this, the Afghan Taliban had made it clear that the Taliban will not release any prisoner until Khas Mohammad is released.
The Foreign Ministry of the Afghan Interim Government said in a statement on Tuesday (January 21), “Khan Mohammad, an Afghan prisoner from the US, has been released from Guantonamo prison. “His release is the result of extensive negotiations with the United States for a prisoner exchange.”
The ministry further said, “Khan Mohammad was arrested in Nangarhar province nearly two decades ago and was sentenced to spend his entire life in a prison in California, USA.”
Donald Trump reversed Joe Biden’s decision
