Know what Yunus government did with teachers supporting Sheikh Hasina in Bangladesh


Many teachers of Dhaka University are unable to take classes because they have been stopped from doing so. This action has been taken against her due to alleged support of Sheikh Hasina government.

According to local media reports, the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus accused about 50 teachers of various departments ‘unwanted’ during the July rebellion, accusing former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina."text-align: justify;"> The university administration had formed ‘facts and committees’, suspending these teachers from educational activities. However, even after several months, teachers could not return to classes.

Many teachers and students have been suspended indiscriminately in many universities of Bangladesh after Younus came to power. In a separate development on Monday, Dhaka University officials suspended 128 students, they are accused of attacking the protesting students during the July rebellion.

According to the report of Bangladesh’s leading newspaper Prothom Alo, most of these students were members of Bangladesh Students League (BCL), who is the student branch of Awami League.

The interim government banned BCL under the Anti -Terrorism Act 2009 in October 2024. However, after the Yunus government took power, the ban on radical Islamic party Jamaat-e-Islami and its student organization Islamic student Shibir on August 28 last year lifted the ban.
