One social media user wrote that they “believed they successfully mocked Kerala, but look at their condition now,” referring to multiple FIRs against India’s Got Latent host Samay Raina and panellists Ranveer Allahbadia, Jaspreet Singh, Apoorva Makhija, and Ashish Chanchlani.

Keralities are serving spicy roast to comedian Jaspreet Singh over his remarks on Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent. The panellists cornered a contestant Pearl William over her political leanings and Singh threw in a stereotypical South Indian remark with an accent for effect. The Malayalis are now roasting him back with, “Kerala saar, get well soon saar.”

This roast comes amid mounting legal trouble for the show’s host Samay Raina, YouTuber-podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, comedian Jaspreet Singh, ‘The Rebel Kid’ Apoorva Makhija, and YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani, with two FIRs – one filed by Guwahati Police and a suo motu case by Maharashtra Cyber Department.

The controversy has even reached India’s Parliament. There have been calls to remove all 18 episodes of the “pointless reality show”.

What did Jaspreet Singh say on the show?

While YouTube has removed the latest episode of India’s Got Latent after a directive from the government, several clips from the controversial episode are all over the Internet. One of them shows Singh mocking William over her political leanings.

During the show, host Samay Raina asked contestant Pearl William about her political leanings, to which she replied, “Political leaning? I don’t watch politics.” Raina pressed further, asking if she had no political opinions at all and whether she voted. William denied both.

At this very moment, Singh intervenes with a remark dripping in sarcasm, “Kerala saar. 100 per cent literacy saar.”

How are Keralities roasting him back?

One X (formerly Twitter) user wrote, “Believed successfully mocked Kerala. But look at their condition now,” referring to FIRs and public outrage.

They added, “We influencer saar, we are not normal people saar. We are intelligent saar… It’s literally like a failed student mocking a first-rank student, that beer boy even goes after parents sex.”

“Kerala: where 100 per cent literacy meets 200 per cent common sense, and stereotypes are left at the door,” said yet another social media user.

He added, “Here, we celebrate a culture built on education, progress, and inclusivity – proving that outdated assumptions have no place in a modern, empowered society. Let’s break free from stereotypes and embrace a future defined by knowledge, dignity, and true cultural pride.”

Another said, “Kerala saar. 100 per cent literacy saar. Get well soon. Will keep you in my prayers.”

“‘Kerala saar, 100 per cent literacy saar,’ wasn’t hatred towards Kerala in the name of comedy? What are they promoting by such remarks? Peace? Love?” asked yet another Internet user.
