The internet is full of quirky videos that instantly grab our attention. Now, social media is buzzing over a quirky video that shows a woman pouring herself a glass of water from a glacial wall. Posted by travel content creator Madison Elrick, the user showed a rather unique way to quench thirst during a trek through the Canadian provinces. The now-viral clip shared on her Instagram handle demonstrates how Elrick seemingly draws water directly from a glacial wall using a metal, faucet-like device.

The video captures Elrick pressing the pointed end of the metal faucet-like structure into the ice. With a twist, clear and icy water begins to trickle out, soon turning into a steady stream carrying small chunks of ice. Elrick successfully fills her mug with the glacial meltwater. In the end, the travel influencer had the widest smile on her face as she scooped out ‘fresh ice’ in the middle of her arduous trek.

Her playful caption, “Just needed to add a little maple syrup,” hinted that she wished to have a chilled cocktail amid the stunning alpine scenery of Alberta in British Columbia.

The unusual method of obtaining drinking water significantly garnered the attention of social media users, drawing a flood of comments. While some found the hack ingenious, a large number of users voiced concern about the water’s purity. They suggested that the water may contain lots of germs and microbes. Others jokingly referred to it as dinosaur water, as it had been there for millions of years.

“Glacier snow cone! Extra virus flavour included,” read a comment.

A user said, “Dinosaur water. It’s not fresh when it’s been frozen there for years.”

“At first glance, the ice wall reminds me of Interstellar when they travelled to the ice planet with the clouds frozen,” wrote a person.

“For what… no minerals in glacier water? But it looks funny,” commented another.

An account remarked, “Not fresh at all, show up in the next video where you got a space diarrhea.”

“Did this once. Had the worst gas stomach ever in my life,” shared a user.

Till now, the video has clocked more than 11 million views, and the numbers are still increasing.
