Jaya Bachchan used to hate Rekha, Jaya Bachchan, did not want to work together in ‘Silsila’

It is said about Yash Chopra’s ‘Silsila’ that it shows Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya and Rekha’s love triangle. Jaya Bachchan used to dislike Rekha due to closeness with this film. This has been revealed by actor and writer Hanif Javeri. Talking on my friend Podcast, Hanif said that Jaya agreed to work in Yash Chopra’s ‘Silsila’ only because of only one person.

How Jaya Bachchan agreed to ‘Silsila’?
Hanif Javeri said- ‘Yash Chopra tried to show that love story on screen, but in reality Jaya Bachchan never wanted to work in the series. She used to dislike Rekha very much. Jaya had made up his mind to reject the series. But on celebrating Sanjeev Kumar, whom she considered “Rakhi Bhai”, she agreed to the film. However, Jaya had placed a condition for this. The condition was that Jaya would be present on the set every day, whether they have any scene or not for shooting.

When the film ‘Silsila’ of Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya and Rekha was released, it was very much liked by the audience. The film also earned a great amount at the box office.
