In a hilarious turn of irony, a locksmith was accidentally locked out of his car by his dogs, leaving him helpless without his tools or any help. Peter Macann, a 31-year-old locksmith from UK’s Norfolk, shared his ordeal on social media, revealing how one of his dogs locked him out of his van on his way to help a customer. Macann, who has not been a locksmith for a long time, said his dogs were inside the vehicle when he stepped out to put air in his tyres at a service station.
Shortly after, he spotted one of his French bulldogs standing on the central locking button, locking him outside with all his tools inside the vehicle. Embarrassed to call any other locksmith or inform his customer, he turned to Facebook to make a plea for help. “I didn’t want to call another locksmith or tell my customer I had locked myself out of my van,” he explained as per BBC.
“I’m a 24-hour locksmith so I had a job at about 21:00, and I went to put air in the tyres, went to pay for it, got back and I just couldn’t get in,” he shared, also mentioning that throughout the situation his dogs remain “completely unbothered” enjoying their own sweet time inside. The incident took place on January 11.
After struggling to find help, Macann’s dogs, Bella and Vinnie, ultimately come to his rescue by accidentally pressing the button again. He admitted feeling embarrassed about explaining the delay to his customers and simply told them he was stuck in traffic. Though he frequently travels with his dogs, this incident made Macann more cautious and prompted him to always carry a spare set of keys.
