16 Consecutive scores of 25-plus for Suryakumar Yadav in the IPL 2025, the longest such streak for any batter in men’s T20 cricket. Suryakumar passed Temba Bavuma’s record on 26 May 2025 in MI’s game against PBKSin Jaipur and extended his tally to two more. The South African had 13 successive scores of 25-plus runs between 2019 and 2020. Suryakumar, meanwhile, already holds the equivalent IPL record, having bettered Robin Uthappa’s tally of 10 such consecutive scores made in 2014.

60 The number of balls to spare in Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) victory over Punjab Kings (PK) in the first Qualifier in Mullanpur on 29 May 2025. This is the biggest such win in an IPL playoff/knockout game. After dismissing Punjab for a paltry 101, RCB reached its target in 10 overs. In doing so, RCB became the 10th side in IPL history to successfully chase a target in 10 or fewer overs. However, it was the first to do so in a playoff match.

1 The number of opponent sides successfully chasing targets of 200-plus set by Mumbai Indians in the IPL. This rare occasion occurred recently when Punjab Kings (207/5) successfully chased Mumbai’s first innings total of 203/6 in the Eliminator game in Mullanpur on 1 June 2025. On 18 previous occasions, Mumbai had defended totals over 200-plus since IPL started in 2008. Incidentally, this season, Mumbai achieved this successfully on four other occasions before Punjab pulled the rug under its feet.

8 The number of teams/franchises to win the IPL Trophy. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Ahmedabad on 3 June 2025 became the latest to join this elite group of franchises after 17 years, 1 month, and 16 days since playing its first game on 18 April 2008. This means that among the original eight franchises that participated in the inaugural edition in 2008, only Delhi Capitals (as Delhi Daredevils until 2018) and Punjab Kings have not gotten their hands on the trophy. Among the existing sides, Lucknow Super Giants is the other not to have the IPL title.
