As the electric-ride-hailing app BluSmart pushed pause its services, many of its users expressed disappointment on social media over its abrupt shutdown. BluSmart built a loyal customer base by offering clean cars, punctual service and polite drivers. However, with the temporary suspension of the service, many regular riders have been left surprised and upset.
One of the X users shared her experience about how the first day without BluSmart had been.
She said, “First day riding without BluSmart. Already struggling with f****d up sleep cycle thanks to the inconsistency of cab bookings and arrival, and fluctuating prices that make budgeting impossible with @Uber_India, @rapidobikeapp and indrive. @BluSmartIndia was a class act. Sad day.”

Another user also expressed disappointment about the sudden end of a brand that had earned a great reputation for reliable service and had women drivers in recent years.
She said, “An abrupt and inglorious halt to what had become an impressive brand in recent years — excellent + reliable service, happy employees, women drivers, EV rides, clean cabs (each an exception to the norm). It’s hard not to feel a sense of loss today.”

A third user wrote, “As a frequent BluSmart user, the news of the service shutting down hits hard. Another service one got used to, was lost to mismanagement. The clean cars, courteous drivers, and the sheer reliability of the cabs turning up at the right time, stuff that the brand had built over the years – will all be missed.”

Many users who had their money in their BluSmart wallets also questioned the status of their refunds. When one of the users asked the app about the refund status through customer support, the app replied, “It will take 90 days to refund, I’m sorry that we cannot refund instant, we will try our best to refund on a faster note, if our services will discontinue then it will take 90 days.”
The app further said, “We’ve decided to temporarily close bookings on the BluSmart app. We truly appreciate your support. While we strive to be back soon to serve you with the same warmth and smile, we will initiate a refund within the next 90 days if services do not resume before then.”

BluSmart has temporarily suspended its operations in Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Bengaluru until May 7. This comes after the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) found potential violations related to funding and compliance.
The promoters of Gensol Engineering Limited (GEL), Anmol Singh Jaggi and Puneet Singh Jaggi, co-founded BluSmart. The company has come under fire after SEBI froze the brothers’ proposed stock split and prohibited them from accessing the securities market.
