Coldplay concerts have a devoted fan base across the globe, but what unfolded during their latest show sparked a social media frenzy. A reported scandal erupted when a tech company’s CEO and his HR head were caught on camera during the performance, leading the internet to draw comparisons to the iconic on-screen couple from the hit mockumentary series The Office.
It was during Coldplay’s performance at Gillette Stadium in Boston, Massachusetts, when Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and the same company’s Chief People Officer, Kristin Cabot, were caught in a mushy moment together. What happened was that the lead singer, Chris Martin, was interacting with his fans present in the crowd while using the ‘kiss cam’.
It is basically a light-hearted diversion from the main event, which uses spotlights to zoom in on couples from the audience. While many take the kiss cam moment playfully, it took an unexpected turn when Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot were spotted in a mushy moment.
Byron had put an arm around Cabot, and the duo was seen embracing the magical vibe of the concert. Soon after Martin noticed the couple, he cheesily teased them, saying, “Oh look at these two,” which led to further cheers amongst the crowd. But realising that the spotlight was on them, the CEO immediately made a quick move to hide from the camera. Meanwhile, Cabot turned backwards in order to hide her face from the camera, leading to Martin jokingly mentioning, “Oh, what… either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy.”
This led to further online speculation and controversy amongst users, with many of them comparing the couple with Michael Scott and Holly Flax’s moment in The Office.
What Happened In The Office Episode
In one of the episodes of the sitcom, Scott can be seen sitting on Flax’s lap as part of one of their PDA moments. It is solely because the actor’s character humorously wanted to feel the warmth of being close to his co-worker. At this time, Flax hugs him from behind, creating one of the most memorable lovey-dovey moments from The Office.
Drawing comparisons, one user shared a collage of Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot’s viral photo from the concert, followed by the on-screen couple’s moment and wrote, “Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot (2025). Holly Flax and Michael Scott (2011).”
Another person wrote, “I’m going to tell my kids this is Michael Scott and Holly Flax.”
