As tensions between Israel and Iran continue to escalate, a light-hearted side of the Internet has taken over. Social media is now flooded with witty posts poking fun at the alleged roles of top spy agencies, America’s CIA and Israel’s Mossad.
Israel launched a major airstrike on Iran on June 12 it targeting nuclear sites and senior military officials. But that was only the surface. According to a report by Axios, Mossad had been preparing for months with secret missions inside Iran.
Hundreds of Mossad agents, including some Iranian operatives working for them, were placed across the country. In central Iran, guided weapon systems were set up near missile sites. Elsewhere, high-tech weapons were hidden in regular vehicles. When the airstrike began, these hidden weapons were activated to attack Iran’s air defence systems.
This intense spy activity inspired a viral joke online. A user wrote, “There are so many Mossad agents operating in Iran right now that I bumped into a guy at the market and accidentally said ‘סליחה’ (Sorry). Before realising I may have accidentally blown my cover, the other guy answered, ‘הכל טוב אחי’ (Everything is fine, brother).”

In response, a user named Claudio Jamel MD shared a witty take on the difference between the CIA and Mossad, and now, it is making the rounds online.

This kicked off a wave of memes and hilarious reactions. Some even brought in India’s intelligence agency, RAW, into the picture.
One person joked, “So, for the neighbour, his wife is a MOSSAD spy and his neighbour is CIA and the neighbour’s wife is a MOSSAD spy. So difficult at the colony and then city level, and then at the state and centre level also.”
Another added, “CIA might know your Netflix password, but Mossad’s operative in your bedroom knows which scene makes you cry and will exploit it at 3 AM.”
“Hahaha. Especially when newly married couples go for their honeymoon,” someone else commented.
“And the RAW operative is your mother-in-law,” read another remark.
Tensions between Israel and Iran have only intensified. Early Saturday, both sides exchanged fresh strikes, just a day after Tehran firmly stated it wouldn’t enter nuclear talks under pressure. One of Iran’s missiles reportedly hit a top Israeli research centre, known for its work in physics and life sciences, causing significant damage.
