Inspector Shreya’s return in CID 2 rekindled memories and emotions as she reunited with Daya, leaving fans teary-eyed.

The timeless charm of India’s longest-running crime show, CID, continues to capture hearts with its reboot, CID 2. The show’s latest developments have sent waves of excitement across its fanbase, particularly with the return of its beloved character, Inspector Shreya aka Janvi Chheda.
Fans, who still reminisce about Shreya and Daya’s subtle romantic arc, were delighted to see the two reunite. An X (formerly Twitter) user shared a clip from CID Season 2, which shows the duo’s reunion. The user captioned the post, writing, “Why are you crying, it’s just a reunion?” In the next line, they added, “The reunion.”
The clip showed Inspector Shreya arriving at CID’s office with her daughter; she and Daya briefly meet each other’s gazes as their unspoken emotions thickened the tension. It further shows Daya approaching the little girl and playing with her. The clip ends with Shreya and Daya, who is holding the young girl in his arms, in one frame. In the fan edit of the reunion plays a sentimental romantic song.
Although the X user made the post merely hours ago, it has garnered thousands of views and comments. Many who have yet to watch the latest episodes were in shock. Some petitioned that Dr Tarika should return to the show as well.
A user wrote, “CID bhai kiss direction mai jaa rahe ho (CID, in which direction are you headed).” The user added crying emojis at the end, expressing how emotional this reunion was for them. Another user questioned, “Is that true?”
Some hailed the reunion as the “best” thing. A third user, commenting below said, “It (the reunion) was perfect.” Yet another added, “Best scene to date in season 2 and best episode of season 2 to date.”
“I literally cried,” one noted; lastly, a user remarked, “They (the showmakers) know whom to bring back in casting.”
