A content creator from Delhi nearly got away with a complimentary meal at a five-star hotel by posing as a guest, but her ruse was exposed and she was made to pay Rs 3,600 for the meal she had enjoyed. Nishu Tiwari drove to a posh hotel in the national capital while wearing pyjamas. There, she provided the staff with a fictitious room number and deceived them into directing her to the breakfast buffet area.

If it weren’t for her teammate leaving their phone in the breakfast area, Nishu Tiwari and her colleague might have gotten away with enjoying a substantial breakfast. The staff found out that they had been fooled when they called the room number Tiwari had given them.

After being halted and questioned, the Delhi woman offered to cover the cost of the meal. “The hotel staff was laughing with us. They were also surprised to realise someone could trick them like this,” Nishu Tiwari told Hindustan Times.

Nishu Tiwari claims that the video is a part of her “Unethical Life Hacks” series, in which she experiments with morally dubious situations.

To check if they could get away with a complimentary breakfast by posing as hotel guests, Tiwari, and her teammate drove to a five-star hotel in Delhi’s upscale Chanakyapuri area while wearing pyjamas.

The content creator even brought a robe to complete the trick. She gave the number of a room outside the breakfast area of the five-star hotel, but she wasn’t staying there.

Tiwari clarified in her video that she got the room number from a hotel blog post. Her claims were not questioned by the hotel staff. Rather than believing her luck, she was escorted into the breakfast area and tucked into a large spread.

“Mujhe Vishwas Nahi Ho Raha Ki Ye Hack Sach Mein Kaam Kar Gaya (I Can’t Believe This Hack Worked),” She says looking into the camera.

According to Nishu Tiwari, who spoke to Hindustan Times, her team member’s ploy was caught since they left their phone inside. They were already on the streets following the successful swindle, so they had to go back to the hotel. Tiwari provided her room number, 3206, when the personnel asked her to confirm it.

Then the staff told her that the room was occupied by a different guest. By claiming they had gone to the incorrect hotel, Tiwari attempted to pass it off as an honest error. The influencers from Delhi acknowledged that they were not hotel guests, but they still paid over Rs 3,600 for the breakfast.

Shared on March 15, the video had garnered over 1.7 million views. Her video generated both criticism and laughter.

A user wrote, “What type of joker are you?”

Another commented, “Haha it was fun watching this.”

“It is possible you might have made this video as a joke, but the people who are watching your video can get such an idea. So why should we give such a message that people get inclined to do such things?” an Instagram user asked.

“I did not find this video funny from any angle, I hope that your video did not send the wrong message to anyone, otherwise, many people get into trouble and such names also get spoiled,” another individual said.
