Receiving a complimentary note can make anyone happy; however, things didn’t go the right way for Steph Bohrer, a US-based influencer, after she got a “you are the most beautiful human” note from a pilot. Bohrer recently went viral on the internet after sharing a TikTok video where she revealed receiving the note from a pilot, further elaborating on the incident—something which has now left everyone divided.
“I am sitting at the airport, and a pilot just placed this on my table and walked away,” she wrote in a post featuring the handwritten note, which featured a short message that read, “I have seen the whole world, and you are the most beautiful human in it.” Known for posting travel and lifestyle content, Bohrer added the note with Taylor Swift’s Enchanted in the background.
In the follow-up video, the influencer revealed that she never got to meet the pilot and that he was not operating her flight. Bohrer’s friend, who she claimed saw the pilot, said that he was short and blond. “It was not the pilot of my flight, by the way. I didn’t even see this man’s face,” she said in a TikTok video.
Noting that she did not expect the video to go viral and gain so many comments on the internet, Bohrer even apologised to the pilot for making it public. “I wasn’t going to make a follow-up video about this, but I just have been getting sent news articles all day—like I’m literally on national news. I don’t think he wanted this to be on the news, and I’m sorry,” she continued.
Despite Bohrer’s appreciation toward the gesture of the stranger, social media users didn’t seem very impressed. A user commented, “He’s probably married with five kids,” while another added, “He didn’t leave a number because he’s someone’s husband,” as per the New York Post. “I’m not even trying to be negative, but there’s a reason he didn’t introduce himself or leave his number,” one of the users remarked.
An Instagram user took to the comment section and wrote, “Former flight attendant here. You can be sure he’s doing that at every airport and probably has someone waiting for him to come home.” One jokingly commented, “This is why my mother told me never to date a pilot.”
On the other hand, a few others supported Bohrer, sounding appreciative of the sweet gesture. A user wrote, “Random acts of kindness for the kindest human ever,” while another added, “My mom always said, if someone is complimenting you, say thank you. This compliment is beautiful. No big love/relationship/drama is requested; it’s beautiful, be thankful, and enjoy the way it makes you happy!”
Amid so many diverse reactions in the comments, Bohrer clarified that she did not write the note herself.
