India Indonesia Relations: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto reached India on Thursday (January 23) night. Let us tell you that this is his first visit to India in which he will participate as the chief guest of India’s 76th Republic Day celebrations. He was welcomed at the airport by Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal welcomed the visit on ‘X’ and said, “This visit will further strengthen India-Indonesia relations.”
During this visit of President Subianto, important agreements are likely to be made to increase cooperation in many areas. This visit will provide an opportunity to strengthen the strategic partnership between India and Indonesia. There has been a significant increase in relations between India and Indonesia in the last few years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi Had visited Indonesia in 2018 and in November last year, Prime Minister Modi and President Subianto also met.
President Subianto to attend Republic Day
President Subianto will be the fourth Indonesian President to attend India’s Republic Day celebrations. Earlier, Indonesia’s first President Sukarno had appeared as the chief guest at India’s first Republic Day celebration in 1950. On this occasion, a 352-member marching and band contingent from Indonesia will participate in the Republic Day Parade on the duty path. This will be the first time an Indonesian marching and band squad will participate in a National Day parade abroad.
Possibility of strengthening India-Indonesia relations
Cultural and trade relations between India and Indonesia have been strong for thousands of years. Both the countries are maritime neighbors and have close relations with each other. Through this visit, the possibility of greater cooperation between the two countries is being expressed, which will further strengthen the relations between the two countries in the future.
