
Thomas Rew struck a quickfire century which allowed England Under-19 to overhaul the target of 291 by one wicket at the County Ground in Northampton on Monday.
Rew smashed an invaluable 131 off 89 balls after England Under-19 had slipped to 47 for three in the chase. He first managed a 123-run fourth-wicket partnership with Rocky Flintoff before another combining for another 60 runs for the fifth wicket with Joseph Moores.
India nabbed Rew and picked a flurry of middle-order wickets. The home side lost four wickets for 24 runs which dragged the match till the final over.
England Under-19 needed seven runs off the final over with Alex French and Sebastian Morgan standing for the last wicket. The latter finished the job with three deliveries to spare.
RS Ambrish was the pick of the bowlers, managing four for 80. Henil Patel and Yudhajit Guha picked two wickets each.
