India bypassed Trump’s pressure on oil purchase, Russia said- ‘Self-esteem in India’



Russia has clearly indicated that it fully accepts India’s foreign policy and national interests and will not allow the pressure of a third country to come between India-Russia relations. After his address to the United Nations General Assembly, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavarov said that Moscow honors the independent foreign policy adopted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also clarified that India’s relations with the US or any other country cannot be “standard” for India-Russia relations.

Specific strategic partnership between India-Russia
Addressing the United Nations General Assembly, Lavarov said that there is a “specific strategic partnership” between India and Russia. He informed that high-level contacts between the two countries remain continuously. On this, the Russian Foreign Minister said that “We respect India’s national interests and Modi ji’s foreign policy.” He clarified that India is capable of taking decisions according to its needs and Russia does not put any kind of pressure for it.

Comprehensive bilateral agenda
Lavarov said that there are many areas of cooperation between India and Russia. These include areas such as business, military, technical cooperation, finance, human matters, health services, high -tech and artificial intelligence. He insisted that there is close coordination and cooperation between India and Russia on international forums like SCO and BRICS.

Meet with Jaishankar
On the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Lavarov, Foreign Minister S.K. Meeting Jaishankar. The two leaders discussed bilateral relations and also participated in the annual meeting of Foreign Ministers of BRICS countries. Support on India’s oil policy

He also referred to Jaishankar’s statement in which he said that if America wants to sell oil to India, it can discuss the conditions, but how much India buys from which country, it is its own matter and has no relation with India-US relations. Lavarov described it as “a very commendable response” and said that this policy of India reflects its “self -esteem”.

Trust on economic partnership
In response to another question, Lavrov reiterated that the economic partnership between Russia and India is completely safe. He said that there are relations based on deep confidence and long -term strategic cooperation between the two countries, which will not be affected by any external pressure.
