Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna was forced to retire hurt on Day 2 of the second unofficial Test between India A and Australia A in Lucknow on Wednesday.
Prasidh was struck on the helmet by a bouncer from Australian pacer Henry Thornton in the 39th over of India A’s first innings. He underwent a concussion test as per the protocol and decided to continue. But, after three overs, Prasidh felt uneasy and decided to walk off.
The 29-year-old was batting on 16 at the time, bringing to an end a promising eighth-wicket stand with Sai Sudharsan, which steadied the India A innings after a middle-order collapse. Yash Thakur later replaced Prasidh as a concussion substitute.
During his brief stay at the crease, Prasidh had pulled Henry for a six over midwicket and got a boundary through an edge past the cordon.
Earlier in the match, Prasidh had a disappointing outing with the ball, conceding 76 runs in 17 overs while picking up just one wicket.
