IND vs ENG, 2nd Test: How many runs does England need to avoid follow on against India?

England ended the first session on the third day of the second Test against England at 249 for five, still 338 runs away from India’s first innings score.

The home side had fallen to 84 for five but a 165-run partnership between Harry Brook and Jamie Smith revived the side.

England needs to score 388 runs in its first innings to avoid the follow on, which was still 139 runs away from where England was parked at Lunch.

England was last asked to follow on in a Test match a decade back, by Australia in 2015 at the Oval.
