Sai Sudharsan struck a patient century to keep India A afloat in its daunting 412-run chase against Australia in the second unofficial Test in Lucknow on Friday.
The left-hander reached his hundred off 170 balls, laced with nine fours and a six. It was his eighth First-Class century and came barely a day after he earned a maiden call-up to India’s Test squad for the upcoming West Indies series. Sudharsan was eventually dismissed for 100.
Sudharsan had also been India A’s top scorer in the first innings, compiling a fluent 75 that had prevented an early collapse. His back-to-back contributions have underlined both form and temperament at a crucial juncture in his career.
