In talks, Trump hinted, how much tariff is going to be felt on India


India-US Trade Deal: The deadline of the American tariff is close to 1 August. Before this, President Donald Trump said in talks that how much percent of India he is going to put on India. Recently, Trump had said that the talks on the trade deal between Indo-US are moving properly. Along with this, he also indicated to impose tariffs up to 20-25 percent on India.

‘India is charging more tariffs from America’

During a press conference in Air Force One on Tuesday, Trump gave his response to the report that the US is preparing to put a tariff of 20 to 25 percent on India. Responding to this, Trump said that India is charging more tariffs than America than other countries. Trump said that now since he remains in office, all this will end. However, till now Trump has not sent any letter officially to India regarding tariffs.

India has been a good friend of America- Trump

Trump further said, “India has been a good friend of America, but in the last few years, Bharat has imposed more tariffs than any other country. But you cannot do this while in my post. I think there is a good conversation on the trade deal. Hopefully for all, especially for the US, it is going to be very good. ”Earlier on April 22, Trump imposed a tariff of 26 percent on products coming from India to America, which was then banned for some time.

What is India’s stand on trade deal?

Meanwhile, Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said on Sunday that the conversation between India and America is going well. He said, “India is interacting in a state of strength and confidence today. This confidence encourages us for a good free free trade agreement … Our conversation with America is moving very well.” During Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Britain last week, Foreign Secretary Vikram Egyptian also said that India is actively discussing with America on a possible bilateral trade agreement (BTA).
