India has been tightening the screws on Pakistan after the barbaric terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on April 22, where 26 tourists were killed, with a second set of punitive measures that includes stopping all Pakistani imports and banning docking of Pakistan-owned ships.

As speculation grows over a possible Indian retaliation over the Pahalgam attack and the possibility of a war between the two neighbouring countries, Pakistani politician Sher Afzal Khan Marwat was asked what he would do in this case.

Marwat, a member of Pakistan’s National Assembly, was asked by a reporter about whether he would fight if a war broke out between India and Pakistan, to which he simply said, “If the war escalates, I will go to England.”

This reply quickly went viral on social media, with users saying even Pakistani politicians did not trust the Army.

In the same video, a reporter asked where Prime Minister Narendra Modi should exercise restraint to de-expalated tensions. Marwat Replied, “Modi Mera Khaala Ka Beta Hai Jo Mere Kehne Se Peeche Jayega?

Marwat is a senior Pakistani politician who was affiliated with jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). However, he criticised the party and its leaders on several occasions, prompting Imran Khan to strip him of key party positions.

Meanwhile, tensions between India and Pakistan remain high as the Pakistani Army opened small arms fire across the Line of Control (LoC) in areas opposite Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Rajouri, Mendhar, Naushera, Sunderbani, and Akhnoor in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday night, violating ceasefire for the tenth consecutive night. The Indian Army responded promptly.

India ramped up its diplomatic offensive against Pakistan with a ban on imports, incoming mail and parcels from Pakistan and restricting the docking of ships from the country at all Indian ports. These three measures are the latest in a series of strong actions taken by the Indian government following the Pahalgam terror attack.
