Jack Smith’s Report on Donald Trump: The US Justice Department on Tuesday (January 14, 2025) released Special Counsel Jack Smith’s report on Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election. The report is the last action by the prosecutor, whose landmark criminal cases were thwarted by Donald Trump’s victory last November.
The report is expected to provide insight into Smith’s decision to bring a four-count indictment against Donald Trump. In which Donald Trump has been accused of conspiring to stop the collection and certification of votes after his election defeat by Joe Biden in 2020.
Trump accused of possessing national security related documents
The second part of the report details the case in which Donald Trump was accused of illegally possessing sensitive documents related to national security after leaving the White House in 2021. However, the US Justice Department has decided that that part of the report will not be made public. At the same time, legal proceedings are going on against two other associates of Trump in this case.
Both cases were withdrawn after Trump won the election.
It is noteworthy that Jack Smith has left the Justice Department only last week. He had withdrawn both the cases against Donald Trump after winning the presidential election last year. Because the Justice Department has a long-standing policy under which no person holding the office of President should be prosecuted.
Trump told Smith- crazy
America’s newly elected President Donald Trump has rejected all the allegations leveled against him and called Jack Smith crazy. Apart from this, Donald Trump called these cases politically motivated to harm his campaign and political movements.
