ICC Rankings — Abhishek new No. 1 batter in T20Is; Jadeja retains top spot among Test all-rounders

Abhishek Sharma has become the No. 1 batter in T20 Internationals, according to the latest ICC rankings released on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old displaced Australia’s Travis Head, who had held the top spot for a year. Abhishek, now on 829 rating points, is the third Indian to top the T20I batting charts after Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav. Head follows with 814 points.

In the Test rankings, Ravindra Jadeja further consolidated his position as the No. 1 all-rounder. His performance in Manchester — four wickets and a gritty unbeaten 107 — earned him 13 additional rating points, taking his tally to 422.

That puts him 117 points ahead of Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Jadeja also moved up to 29th among Test batters and 14th among bowlers.

Washington Sundar’s maiden Test century and a defiant 203-run stand with Jadeja lifted him eight places to 65th in the batting rankings. He also climbed to joint-13th among all-rounders after taking two wickets in the match.

England’s Joe Root extended his lead over Kane Williamson as the top-ranked Test batter, courtesy of his 150 in Manchester. Ben Stokes rose to third among all-rounders — his highest since December 2022 — following a five-wicket haul and a 141-run knock.

Jofra Archer jumped 38 places to 63rd among bowlers, while Chris Woakes moved up to 23rd. Among England’s batters, Ben Duckett climbed to 10th, Ollie Pope to 24th, and Zak Crawley to 43rd.
