US millionaire and age-reversing CEO Bryan Johnson made headlines this week after he walked out of Zerodha’s co-founder Nikhil Kamath’s podcast mid-way, citing air pollution as the reason. Following his abrupt departure from the show, many took to social media to share their views on it. Among them was Indian doctor Shikhar Ganjoo, whose remarks have now sparked a controversy.
The dermatologist took to his X account to express his views on Johnson’s sudden departure. He wrote, “@bryan_johnson longevity rant is a laughable, deluded OCD tirade. Every word reeks of pseudo-scientific desperation, turning his life into a pompous farce. His rigid rituals are not inspiring, but they are a miserable mockery of living. #LongevityFad #Pseudoscience #ObsessiveRituals #ImmortalityMyth #RidiculousRoutines.”
Johnson, who was in India to promote his book on age-reversal Don’t Die, quoted the doctor’s X post and cryptically replied, “Dr. Ganjoo, how did you sleep last night?” To this, Dr Ganjoo responded, “Good evening, Bryan. Thank you for asking—I’m pleased to report I had a restful 8 hours of sleep last night, plus a rejuvenating 45-minute nap this afternoon. I hope you’re having a great day as well!”

The heated exchange between the Indian doctor and the US millionaire comes right after the latter shared a post on his X account, elaborating on why he left the podcast mid-way, where he discussed the future of health and wellness with the host.
Johnson said, “When in India, I did end this podcast early due to the bad air quality. @nikhilkamathcio was a gracious host, and we were having a great time. The problem was that the room we were in circulated outside air, which made the air purifier I’d brought with me ineffective.” The 47-year-old age-reversing CEO mentioned that after being in India for three days, the air pollution had made his skin break out in rashes, and he also experienced throat burn.

Further, Johnson expressed, “Air pollution has been so normalised in India that no one even notices anymore despite the science of its negative effects being well known. People would be outside running. Babies and small children exposed from birth. No one wore a mask, which can significantly decrease exposure. It was so confusing. The evidence shows that India would improve the health of its population more by cleaning up air quality than by curing all cancers.”
