Such instances have occurred repeatedly, as exemplified by an incident in Agra, where a seemingly insignificant dispute about high-heeled sandals culminated in divorce.
In a shocking incident, a disagreement concerning high-heel sandals created tension in a married couple’s relationship, ultimately escalating to the point of divorce proceedings. According to reports, the young couple got married in 2024.
After marriage, the wife asked her husband to buy her some high-heeled sandals. The husband fulfilled her wish, but while walking in the sandals, his wife fell and injured herself. Following this, the husband asked his wife to stop wearing high-heeled sandals, but she did not listen to him.
Some time later, the wife requested high-heel sandals again. However, her husband refused, sparking an argument that escalated into a fight. Last month, the dispute reached a boiling point, leading the wife to return to her parents’ home in anger, where she has remained for the past month. Following this incident, a complaint was lodged with the Agra Police Family Counselling Centre.
According to Dr Satyesh Khirwar, a counsellor at the Agra Family Counselling Centre, the couple has shown understanding after counselling. They have reconciled and reached a compromise. Although the dispute is now settled, this unusual disagreement over high-heeled sandals has become a topic of public discussion.
