
Bangladesh Ex-PM Sheikh Hasina: An audio was posted on the Facebook page of Bangladesh’s Awami League Party late on Friday (January 17, 2025), in which former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina made a shocking revelation. Making serious allegations in the audio speech, he claimed that several conspiracies were hatched to kill him and his younger sister Sheikh Rehana. Rehana and I narrowly escaped. Our lives were saved only by a difference of 20-25 minutes.
Last year, in the month of August 2024, there was a strong movement under the leadership of students against the government of Sheikh Hasina and Awami League Party. After several weeks of protests, clashes and movements, a coup was carried out in Bangladesh on August 5, 2024, after which 76-year-old Sheikh Hasina had to resign from the post of Prime Minister and was forced to come to India. During this period, more than 600 people were killed in the violence in Bangladesh. After the fall of Sheikh Hasina from power, the interim government of Mohammad Yunus was formed in Bangladesh.
Sheikh Hasina claimed conspiracy to kill her
Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina claimed in an audio speech released on her Facebook page that several conspiracies were hatched to kill her. He said, “I feel that surviving the killings of August 21, 2004 or surviving the bomb in Kotalipara and being alive even on August 5, 2024… happened by the will of Allah. Allah must have had a hand on me, otherwise I would not have survived this time!” He further said in his statement, “You must have seen how they had conspired to kill me. But, it is by the grace of Allah that I am still alive. Allah wants me to do something else. However, I am a victim. Living without my country and my home. “Everything of mine has been burnt.”
Sheikh Hasina mentioned many conspiracies
Referring to the conspiracies, Sheikh Hasina said that on August 21, 2004, there was a grenade attack on the anti-terrorism rally organized by the Awami League on Bangabandhu Avenue. 24 people were killed and more than 500 were injured in this attack. During this, the then opposition leader was addressing a crowd of 20,000 people. At the same time, Kotlipara bomb blast was also a conspiracy to kill Sheikh Hasina.
